Komornicka. The ostensible biography constitutes an attempt at a theatrical investigation of Maria Komornicka’s biography.
This modernist writer called herself Piotr Włast for more than a half of her life. Controversial, labelled as a madwoman and a weirdo, she was an eminent figure of her times. Though her metamorphosis she pointed to the difficult and important problems of the world, of redefining values, of creating one’s image and of the essence of gender. The creators of the play explore the story of Komornicka to investigate her mystery once more, this time from a completely new perspective.
